Choosing Search Terms Typing in the right search terms is the key to finding the information you are looking for.

Start with the Basics – if you’re looking for general information on Child Custody, try "Custody".

But we often suggest to use multiple search terms; if you are filing for a divorce, you’ll do better with "Grounds for Divorce" than with either "Divorce" or "Grounds". And "Divorce Grounds Abandonment" may produce even better (or, depending on your perspective, worse) results.

You might also ask yourself if your search terms are sufficiently specific. Since DivorceDex is specifically about divorce, you may want to consider eliminating the word "Divorce" for any of your searches. But choose your search terms carefully; DivorceDex looks for the search terms you chose. Also keep in mind that you can browse the DivorceDex Term Pages without performing a keyword search.
