Application in Divorce Swab tests can be used to collect DNA for analysis when establishing paternity. The cheek area of each participant will be swabbed using a cotton or foam swab. The majority of laboratories require a minimum of two swabs per person. The person hiring the tester should witness all sample extractions if possible and sign or initial the forms stating that their sample was properly taken and documented.

There are several paternity kits available that can be mailed to a customer and once the DNA is collected by using a buccal swab, can be returned to a lab for testing. This has become very popular because it is an economical and more private way to get a paternity test, but keep in mind that these types of tests are not upheld by the courts. One may want to consider these mail kits as a preliminary measure.
