Definition Abuse Prevention - the use of a court order to protect against domestic violence.
Application in Divorce Abuse prevention comes in many forms, both proactive and reactive. Victims who are proactive unfortunately have either been abused in the past or know someone who has been abused. One can take his or her own steps to prevent abuse and there are also legal measures, chiefly preventive orders.

Each individual situation warrants its own actions, and steps towards prevention are often up to that person being abused or the parent or guardian of a victim.

#912: If a parent is not paying child support do not withhold visitation that is ordered by the court as punishment. This will not look good in the eye of the court as it does not see preventing child visitation as leverage to collect child support.
